Fixed fees,
agreed before we start.
No hourly rates. No timesheets. No surprise invoices. You get a price in pounds, in writing, before any work begins.
What things usually cost.
Every matter is quoted on its own, but these are the numbers we quote most often. Where you sit in a range depends on how complex the job is, never on how long it takes us.
Employment contracts and contractor agreements
Contracts for new hires and senior appointments, consultancy and contractor agreements, and IR35 analysis of whether a contractor sits inside or outside the off-payroll working rules. Drafted from scratch, or reviewed and redlined before you sign.
Commercial terms and conditions
The terms you sell on, a master services agreement, supplier or vendor terms, a data processing agreement, a privacy policy, a licence or a collaboration agreement. Drafted from scratch, or reviewed and redlined before you sign.
Employee share option scheme
The legal side of putting a scheme in place: EMI or unapproved option plans, the scheme rules, option agreements and the resolutions behind them.
Funding round, including SEIS/EIS
The legal documents a round runs on: term sheet, subscription and shareholders’ agreements, board and shareholder resolutions, side letters, intellectual property assignments, founders’ service agreements. Advance assurance and the tax filings stay with your accountant.
Founder and shareholder agreements
Founders’ agreements, shareholders’ agreements, and drafting or amending the articles of association that sit alongside them: vesting, leaver terms, decision rights, intellectual property assignments. Drafted from scratch, or checked before everyone signs.
Something not on this list
Most commercial legal work gets priced the same way, from a one-off document to reviewing a portfolio of hundreds of contracts. Tell us what you need and we will quote it, or say so if it is not our area.
All ranges are indicative and plus VAT. They exclude third-party costs such as Companies House filing fees. The quote we send you is the number that binds; these are here so you can budget before you ever speak to us.
What the fee covers.
- A qualified solicitor reviewing and signing off every output
- The calls and emails along the way, not metered separately
- Reasonable revisions within the scope we agreed
- Negotiating with the other side’s lawyers where that is part of the matter
- The turnaround we stated in the quote, usually hours rather than weeks
And what you won’t be billed for
- Hours. We keep no timesheets, so there is nothing to bill from.
- Calls and emails, including the quick question on a Sunday.
- Work that took us longer than we thought it would.
- Anything at all that you have not agreed to in advance.
If a matter turns out harder than we scoped it, that is our problem, not your invoice.
How you get a number.
Tell us what you need
Slack, email or WhatsApp. Send the document if there is one. No portal, no intake form.
We scope it
A solicitor reads it and works out what the job actually is, rather than guessing at an hourly estimate.
You get a fixed fee
In pounds, in writing, with the turnaround alongside it. Usually within hours. Accept or decline.
We start
No clock running, no timesheet, and no invoice at the end that is bigger than the quote.
Every law firm uses AI. Only we pass on the savings.
Fixed fees are not a discount gimmick. Our own platform does the drafting, redlining and first-pass review, and a qualified solicitor then applies the judgement that actually needs a lawyer. The work costs us less to produce, so it costs you less to buy.
It is also why we can quote confidently up front. Firms that bill hourly might be passing their estimating risk to you, one six-minute unit at a time. We would rather carry it ourselves.
Pricing, answered.
Yes. The number in your quote is the number you pay. It does not move because a matter took us longer than we expected, because a call ran over, or because you emailed us a question on a Sunday. The only thing that changes a fee is a material change to the work itself, and we agree that with you in writing before we carry on.
No. We do not keep timesheets, so there is nothing to bill from. Hourly billing pays a firm more for taking longer, which is exactly the wrong incentive when you want the work done well and done now.
Then we tell you that at quote stage, before you have committed to anything. The ranges on this page are what we quote most often, not a cap and not a promise. A round with four investor groups and a complicated cap table costs more than a clean one, and you will know that before we start rather than after.
Yes, and it gets priced as the small piece of work it is rather than folded into a bigger project fee. Send it over, tell us what you are worried about, and we will quote it.
Yes. Most of our clients send work as it comes up, over Slack, email or WhatsApp, and each matter is quoted at a fixed fee before it starts. If your volume makes a standing monthly arrangement more sensible than matter-by-matter quotes, say so and we will work it out with you.
