FAQ

Questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Yes. We focus on commercial work: contract review, drafting, fundraising and finance documents, negotiating with the other side. All legal work is carried out by SRA-registered solicitors practising in England and Wales. We do not take on reserved legal activities such as litigation, conveyancing, probate or notarial work, so the firm itself is not regulated by the SRA; our solicitors are regulated by the SRA in their individual capacity.

  • Every matter is fixed-fee, quoted in pounds before any work begins. Typical ranges, plus VAT: Simple contracts: £500 – £1,000; More advanced contracts: £1,000 – £3,000; Funding round, including SEIS/EIS: £5,000 – £10,000. Where you land in a range depends on how complex the matter is. If the brief materially changes mid-flight, we agree a revised fee with you in writing before we continue. No timesheets, ever.

  • Every output is verified by a qualified solicitor with a practising certificate in England & Wales. The AI handles drafting and first-pass review; a human applies legal judgement before anything reaches you. All of our work is backed by our professional indemnity insurance.

  • Every message is answered within 24 hours, whether it is a first enquiry, a question in the middle of a matter or something after it has closed, and usually much sooner during UK working hours. On the work itself, most routine contracts come back within hours. Larger pieces of work (a shareholders’ agreement, a master services agreement negotiated with counterparty counsel) usually take days, and some depend on how quickly the other side moves. We tell you the turnaround at quote stage.

  • UK startups and scaleups from pre-seed to Series B and beyond. Founders, general counsel and finance leads who sign more than a handful of contracts a quarter. Our clients are backed by investors including a16z speedrun, Antler, Techstars, Passion Capital and Circle, and most of them had no in-house lawyer when they first sent us a brief.

These are the six we get asked most.

What our clients say about working with us.

We let the work speak, and then we let our clients speak. Here is what founders and operators at high-growth UK startups say about working with Kyra Law. Names are withheld by default to respect client confidentiality.

  • “What working with a law firm should look like in 2026”

Working with Kyra is what working with a law firm should look like in 2026. We needed urgent work on one of our contracts, and it got done fast, reliably, and to a high standard, at a fraction of what I’d normally pay. Genuinely impressed.

  • “They think like engineers about the law”

Kyra are fast and capable, but also much more scrupulous about only doing work for us that they feel we really need. They think like engineers about the law: not many lawyers I’ve worked with have been able or willing to create legal outputs from my articulating a set of commercial outcomes.

  • “Fast, smooth, and very high quality”

We needed our master services agreements drafted and turned around quickly, and Kyra delivered on every front: fast, smooth, and very high quality, at a fantastic price. Exactly what we needed from a law firm at this stage.

  • “I hate that feeling of opening the lawyer invoice”

Fixed price for a piece of work was highly attractive. I hate that feeling of opening the lawyer invoice to find it’s double what you estimated, and then the itemisation is so opaque you can’t really challenge it. It also meant I didn’t worry about every last email and call being billed. The biggest upside was that they would work on Slack and Google Docs rather than email, phone and Word doc versions. Much more efficient and less stressful for me.

  • “Do things properly without the usual bill”

As a founder you watch every pound, and legal is one of those areas where the cost makes you think twice about when and how much. Finding Kyra Law has been a game changer. They are quick to respond, they have proactively flagged things I wouldn’t have thought to ask about, and the price is genuinely competitive. If you are an early-stage founder who wants to do things properly without the usual bill, I would absolutely recommend reaching out.

  • “Kyra Law gives it to you straight”

Kyra Law gives it to you straight. Accurate, flexible, and super responsive, with none of the overly cautious, jargon-heavy advice designed to rack up hours. A breath of fresh air: quick replies and a genuinely AI-friendly approach.
